Dr. Stephanie Savino Hoffman, originally from Central New Jersey, graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbus, OH. While at The Ohio State, she conducted clinical research in feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which led to the publication of the findings in two prestigious veterinary medical journals. After graduation, she relocated to Los Angeles, CA for completion of a one-year small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, before relocating to Irvine, CA for a one-year cardiology specialty internship at Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital. She then moved to Northern Virginia to join CVCA for completion of a three-year residency before successfully achieving Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 2022.

Dr. Savino’s professional interests include chronic management of canine acquired cardiac disease, feline cardiomyopathies, and cardiac arrhythmias. Amongst efforts to maximize her patients’ quality of life in management of their cardiac disease, Dr. Savino emphasizes education and values open communication with their families to help provide the best individualized care; she strives to treat each pet as if it were her own.

In addition to her passion for cardiology, Dr. Savino loves to travel. She and her husband Chris, both PADI Master SCUBA Divers, have dove the world from the Maldives to the Galápagos Islands. She also enjoys snowboarding, competitive go-karting, golfing, weightlifting, and high-intensity interval training at OrangeTheory Fitness. When relaxing, you can find her reading, learning a new language, watching true crime shows on TV, and spending time with her beloved pets: a Staffordshire Terrier mix named Mowgli, a Tortie Point Siamese named Sushi, and a Suncheek Conure named Clancy.
