K. Tess Sykes

DVM, Residency Trained in Cardiology

Tess Sykes graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship in Houston, followed by several years practicing emergency medicine.

Dr. Sykes trained at Texas A&M University for four additional years after graduation, consisting of a research fellowship and cardiology residency. During her cardiology training, Dr. Sykes had a special focus on the Borzoi dog breed. Her cardiology areas of interest are inherited arrhythmias, interventional treatment of congenital and acquired heart disease, and transesophageal echocardiography.

Dr. Sykes has a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, enjoys spending time with family, being involved in her local church, and exploring the Texas Hill Country.
