Donna, Team Leader
Donna grew up in Northern Virginia and has over 16 years experience in the veterinary field. Donna holds an MA in Anthropology – Primatology from East Carolina University and a BS in Natural Resource Wildlife Management from Ohio State University and is an Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She spent some time in Atlanta, GA where she did cognitive research studies with human’s closest relative, apes. Donna is back in Northern Virginia and loves spending time with her daughter, Alice, and in her free time likes to go horseback riding and hiking. Donna has two pets: “Buford” an American Bulldog and her cat “Draven.”
Eva, Team Leader
Eva started her veterinary career by volunteering at the SPCA in St. Croix during high school. She relocated to northern Virginia and worked as a veterinary assistant in a primary care veterinary office before joining CVCA in 2013. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, family, friends and her furry family members “Kassidy” a Yorkie mix that is quiet and calm and “Pepper” a Maltese that is a ball of energy.
Kayla, Team Leader
Kayla was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. She later moved to Knoxville, TN where she attended the University of Tennessee. Kayla has been working in the veterinary industry since 2010. In 2014 she moved to Virginia and joined CVCA. In her spare time, she loves to travel, spend time with her husband and hang out with her furry family members, “Jake” a black Labrador Retriever, “Mabel” a tri-color hound mix, “Bella” a brown/black Dachshund and “Karl” her guinea pig.
Monica, Team Leader
Monica started working in the veterinary field in 2009 and joined CVCA in 2013 as a veterinary nurse. She was promoted to Team Leader of our Fairfax office in 2014. Monica and her husband recently welcomed their first son Wesley and he joins their furry family members “Chico” a mini Chihuahua mix and “Archie” a New Guinea Singing Dog. Monica enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, playing games and listening to music. Her favorite sports teams include the Washington Redskins, Washington Capitals and Washington Nationals.

Beth, Veterinary Assistant
Beth is a South Carolina native. She graduated from the University of South Carolina majoring in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. After completing a Federal Service career in the areas of training and education, business process improvement and legislative affairs, she pursued additional training at Northern Virginia Community College and became a licensed veterinary technician (LVT). Since 2004, she worked primarily as an emergency LVT. Most recently, she joined the CVCA staff at the Fairfax location. Beth is married with two cats. In her free time, she enjoys baking, gardening, and bird watching.
Nicole, Veterinary Assistant
Nicole was born and raised in Richmond, VA. She moved to Washington, DC in 2014, then quickly realized the bustle of the metropolitan area was too much for her, and decided to move back to VA in 2016. Nicole has a Bachelor of Science in English from the Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been in the veterinary field since 2005, when she started out as a kennel tech/vet assistant with the Richmond SPCA. She has a Border Collie/Pit Bull mix named “Millie”, a polydactyl Calico (with lots of ‘tude) named “Myrtle”, and a tuxedo sweet boy kitty named “Fifi”. She enjoys running, lifting heavy weights, hanging out with her daughter, step kids, and her fiancee. Her hobbies include writing short horror stories, taking her dog on adventures, and napping (when she has time!). Her favorite sports team are the Gotham Girls Roller Derby.

Sara, Veterinary Assistant
Sara was born and raised in Northern Virginia and went to Northern Virginia Community College. She has worked in the veterinary industry since 2011. Sara was a volunteer at Friends of Homeless Animals. She is currently going to school part time and hope to become a law enforcement/detection dog trainer. She enjoys hiking with her dogs “Bug” a Dachshund/Beagle mix and “Ditto” a mini Dachshund. Sara also enjoys hiking with her dogs and dancing. Her favorite sports teams are the Washington Redskins.
Amy is originally from Virginia but lived in New Jersey for 20 years. Welcome back to Virginia, Amy! She has been working in the veterinary field for 13 years in specialities services of Dermatology and Ophthalmology before joining CVCA. Amy has an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in veterinary technology. She also majored in Studio Art with a minor in Asian Studies. Amy enjoys the arts, reading, movies and spending time with her husband and her Dachshund “Emmitt.”
Kelly, Team Leader
Kelly is a native to Richmond, VA. She graduated from Blue Ridge Community College with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Veterinary Technology in 2011 and has been working in the veterinary industry since 2007. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys volunteering for Canine Adventures and likes being outdoors with her family and hiking local parks. Her furry family includes: 2 cats “Fendi” and “Catfish,” and the naughty beagle “Fancy.”
Kay, Veterinary Assistant
Kay has been working in the veterinary field for more than 6 years before joining CVCA. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Virginia Community College (VCU). She adopted her cat “Stanley the Manly” a 16-year-old DSH in the summer of 2012 from a local barn. In her free time she loves to play the ukulele, paint, crochet, knit, garden and is also an avid reader and loves taking dance classes.
Nikki, Veterinary Assistant
Nikki was born and raised in Richmond, VA. Nikki started her veterinary career in 2006 and graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 2009 before joining CVCA. Nikki has one four-legged furry family member; “Nera” a chocolate Lab. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends; going out to eat and trying new foods, going to trendy places and reading a good book.
Jessica, Veterinary Assistant
Jessica is a native of Falls Church, VA. She has been working in the veterinary field for 7 years in both emergency and primary veterinary care prior to joining CVCA in 2015. Jessica loves to travel and spending time with her family and her 2 Pitbull dogs “Layla” and “Juelz” and 2 cats “Lilly” and “Sean”. She is a football fan and her favorite team is the Washington Redskins.
Ally, Veterinary Assistant
Ally started working in the veterinary field in 2005 and joined CVCA in 2014. A native Northern Virginian born in Falls Church, Ally enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family and her nephews Isaac and Logan. And her own furry family consists of “Gabby,” a German Shepard mix; 2 domestic long haired cats “Sweet Tea” and “Natty Gann” and 1 calico cat “Miss Kitty”
Adam, Veterinary Assistant
Adam started working in the veterinary field in 2004, and joined CVCA in 2015. Some of his hobbies and interests include seeing the world, cooking, and lounging with his 10 year old Yorkie, “Bailey.” His favorite sports teams are the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Capitals.
Stephanie, Client Service Representative
Stephanie worked for many years teaching in elementary schools. Part of her curriculum always included responsible pet ownership and compassion for animals. She is very happy to be a part of CVCA and have the opportunity to help both people and their pets. In spring of 2009 Stephanie won the Client Service and Values award at CVCA for her innovation and dedication to client and patient advocacy. Stephanie lives with her husband and their dogs Jessie, a hound mix and a black Labrador Retriever named James.
Janet, Veterinary Assistant
Janet started working in the veterinary field in 2003, and joined CVCA in 2010. Prior to CVCA, Janet worked in a small general practice as well as in ER. In her spare time, Janet enjoys spending time with her son, boating with family and anything else outdoors. She is a huge fan of the Washington Capitals and the Washington Redskins!
Tirzah, Veterinary Assistant
Tirzah started working in the veterinary field in 2006 and started working with CVCA in 2009 in our Vienna office, but later moved to Richmond to help open our Richmond office. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Wildlife Science. She and her husband share some furry children, 2 cats “Pip” and “Squeaks” and a dog “Duke” a Labrador Retriever. In her spare time she enjoys running, rowing, hiking with “Duke” and beading.
Heather, Veterinary Assistant
Heather started in the veterinary field in 2004 as a veterinary nurse for an equine hospital before joining the CVCA team in 2008. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Heather volunteers with the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club. In her spare time she enjoys canoeing, hiking, camping, reading and spending time with her husband and dog Duder, a Labrador Retriever mix.
