Kayla, Team Leader
Kayla was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. She later moved to Knoxville, TN where she attended the University of Tennessee. Kayla has been working in the veterinary industry since 2010. In 2014 she moved to Virginia and joined CVCA. In her spare time, she loves to travel, spend time with her husband and hang out with her furry family members, “Jake” a black Labrador Retriever, “Mabel” a tri-color hound mix, “Bella” a brown/black Dachshund and “Karl” her guinea pig.
Nicole, Veterinary Assistant
Nicole was born and raised in Richmond, VA. She moved to Washington, DC in 2014, then quickly realized the bustle of the metropolitan area was too much for her, and decided to move back to VA in 2016. Nicole has a Bachelor of Science in English from the Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been in the veterinary field since 2005, when she started out as a kennel tech/vet assistant with the Richmond SPCA. She has a Border Collie/Pit Bull mix named “Millie”, a polydactyl Calico (with lots of ‘tude) named “Myrtle”, and a tuxedo sweet boy kitty named “Fifi”. She enjoys running, lifting heavy weights, hanging out with her daughter, step kids, and her fiancee. Her hobbies include writing short horror stories, taking her dog on adventures, and napping (when she has time!). Her favorite sports team are the Gotham Girls Roller Derby.
Sara, Veterinary Assistant
Sara was born and raised in Northern Virginia and went to Northern Virginia Community College. She has worked in the veterinary industry since 2011. Sara was a volunteer at Friends of Homeless Animals. She is currently going to school part time and hope to become a law enforcement/detection dog trainer. She enjoys hiking with her dogs “Bug” a Dachshund/Beagle mix and “Ditto” a mini Dachshund. Sara also enjoys hiking with her dogs and dancing. Her favorite sports teams are the Washington Redskins.
Amy is originally from Virginia but lived in New Jersey for 20 years. Welcome back to Virginia, Amy! She has been working in the veterinary field for 15 years in specialties services of Dermatology and Ophthalmology before joining CVCA. Amy has an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in veterinary technology. She also majored in Studio Art with a minor in Asian Studies. Amy enjoys the arts, reading, movies and spending time with her husband and her Dachshund “Emmitt.”
Stephanie, Client Service Representative
Stephanie worked for many years teaching in elementary schools. Part of her curriculum always included responsible pet ownership and compassion for animals. She is very happy to be a part of CVCA and have the opportunity to help both people and their pets. In spring of 2009 Stephanie won the Client Service and Values award at CVCA for her innovation and dedication to client and patient advocacy. Stephanie lives with her husband and their dogs Jessie, a hound mix and a black Labrador Retriever named James.
