Casey started out working the the equine field and made the transition to small animal specialty medicine in 2013. After moving from Rockville, MD to the Leesburg, VA area she started working at CVCA in 2014. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, working on cars, and playing with her animals, riding horses, hiking, puppy play dates and renovating her home. Casey enjoys following her favorite sports team is the Washington Redskins and loves spending time with her horse “Bug” ; 2 cats “Sparkplug” and “Misfire”; and 2 dogs “Bullet” and “Nova.”

Kimberly was in the U.S. Army and started working in the veterinary field in 2006.

Samantha, RVT, Team Leader
Samantha has spent the majority of her life in the Montgomery County area of Maryland and has worked at veterinary practices in Montgomery and Frederick counties. She has been working the veterinary field for about 20 years, starting as a kennel assistant and then later a veterinary technician in small and mixed animal primary practices before joining CVCA in 2015. She has two cats at home “Minerva McGonnagal” and “George Weasley”, two dogs, a German Shepherd named “Nixon” and Labrador named “Phoster”, and will be adding a new German Shepherd puppy to the family, she also has community fish tank. She is a foster home for a local German Shepherd Rescue and also helps them with events and home visits for adoptable dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys training her dogs to compete in various dog events. She, also loves to travel and is an amateur soap maker. Samantha is the founder and current Vice President of the Maryland Veterinary Technician.
Sara, Team Leader
Sara started working in the veterinary field in 2000 and worked in emergency veterinary medicine for 12 years before coming to CVCA. In her spare time, Sara volunteers at a spay/neuter clinic and enjoys fostering cats and dogs for shelters and rescues. As for pet of her own, Sara has two dogs: “Tooofus”, a Terrier mix and “Maeby”, also a mix. She also has seven cats: “Sophie”, “Macy”, “Fat Albert”, “Bob Loblaw”, “Mel”, “Lucille Z.” and “Charlotte.” Sara’s hobbies include hiking, reading, going to concerts and hockey games. Go Caps!
Sarah grew up in Washington, DC. Sarah graduated from Frostburg State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry and obtained her Associates Degree in Veterinary technology from Northern Virginia Community College. She had 3 box turtles, 1 cat and 1 rabbit as a child. Naturally, with her love for animals she started volunteering at Friendship Animal Hospital in her senior year of high school where she witnessed her first major surgery and there was no turning back from after that! Since then she has worked at several general practices and specialty practices. She currently has 3 cats at home: “Toulouse” is her main man whom she adopted from her Veterinary Technician school program, and it literally was love at first meow! “Larue” is her “middle child” who was found as a kitten on the streets, and “Cosette” is her fluffy little girl her mom found in her backyard and she was purrfect! She loves to spend time with her husband and two children. Outside of her love for animals, she also enjoys art and movies, all things food and when the opportunity arises, traveling the world!

Lisa has been working in the veterinary field for 20 years before joining CVCA in January 2018. She has two Cornish Rex cats named “Twix” and “Snickers”. Her favorite sports team are the New England Patriots.

Samantha has lived in Gaithersburg almost her whole life. After graduating high school, she worked at a general practice veterinary hospital while she did night school for her Hospitality degree. She spent 5 years in the hospitality field before realizing her true passion was helping make animals feel better. She has been working in the veterinary field for almost 10 years. After spending over 5 years out of the veterinary medicine field she was able to get back into the field and started working at a specialty animal emergency hospital. She has four Bengals “Huey”, “Abby”, “Gus” and “Chip” subtly named “The Herd”. “Chip” has been a patient at CVCA since he was 3 months old.

Denise grew up in Damascus, MD. She always had a love for animals and had many pets from horses to snakes and everything in between. She made a decision early in her life while in high school to work in veterinary medicine. She started working as a veterinary receptionist in 2004 and became a technician by 2006. Since then, she has worked in general practice, emergency and specialty medicine. She has two guinea pigs “Oreo and “S’mores”, a Holland lop bunny named “Pancake” and will be adding a puppy to the family this spring. She loves to spend time with her husband, her daughter and her son. She loves the beach, any outdoor activities, cooking and home improvement projects. And, in her spare time she watches her daughter compete at the gym. Her favorite sports teams are the Orioles, Redskins and the Capitals.

Caitlin grew up in Rockvile, MD where she still resides. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2006 and has worked in primary care and oncology before joining CVCA in 2016. Caitlin has three dogs, two Pembroke Welsh Corgis named “Joey” and “Molly”, and one Cardigan Welsh Corgi named “Louie” and a cat named “Mortimer”. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband traveling, hiking and going to the gym. Her favorite sports team are the Washington Capitals.
Cheryl, Veterinary Assistant
Cheryl has been working in the veterinary field for over 8 years and loves it. She has two dogs, “Pooh Bear” a Chihuahua and “Nemesis” a Pit Bull and loves spending time with them. She is also a volunteer at the Montgomery County Animal shelter in her spare time. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and family. Her favorite football team are the Redskins.

After moving from a small town in Maine, Jamie began working in the veterinary field in January of 1991. For over a decade, Jamie has had the pleasure of working with a great team of cardiologists in order to help out furry family members manage their heart diseases. She also does volunteer work at the YWCA and Anne Arundel County Shelters. Her free time is spent with close friends, family, her dog “Liberty” and her two cat playmates “Victor” and “Sonnie.” She also enjoys traveling, cooking and rooting for any sports teams that are from New England!
Karen, Veterinary Assistant
Growing up in PA, Karen was always surrounded by many beloved pets. She started working at a primary care veterinary hospital in 1996 as a kennel assistant and worked her way up to a veterinary assistant. Karen received her BA from Penn State University in 2001. She then moved to northern Virginia with her husband Chris and started working at a primary care veterinary office where she worked 10 years before coming to CVCA. She enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends and “Gizmo”, her beloved Miniature Poodle. As she grew up in PA, her favorite sports teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers! And you can’t forget the Penn State University Nittany Lions, Go State!
Kristina started working in the veterinary field in 1996 as a kennel assistant and worked her way up to a veterinary assistant. She attended Towson University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2008. Prior to joining CVCA in 2013, she spent 2 years in emergency medicine, and 7 years with a primary care veterinarian. In her spare time she enjoys baking, beach vacations and spending time with her husband and their mix breed rescue dog “Jade”.

Jennifer grew up in Montgomery County, MD and moved back after living in Charleston, SC for a short time. She has loved animals her entire life. She started in the veterinary field in 2003 as a veterinary technician and came to CVCA in 2014. She has a three year old male English Shepherd named “Helmsley”, a two year old Labrador named “Tin Man”, whom she show in AKC confirmation rings, 24 chickens and a miniature donkey named “Vincenzo”. In her spare time Jennifer loves spending time with all of her animals. Hiking with her dogs and spending afternoons hanging out with her livestock are her favorite things. She also enjoys cooking and reading books. She is a survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and an active fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
