Carrie grew up on a farm with horses and livestock, so when she needed a job in college, she was naturally drawn into the field of veterinary medicine. After graduating from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences, she pursued her career at a local emergency clinic. Though she maintained a full time position in emergency medicine for most of the past 12 years, she also pursued other specialties including surgery, internal medicine, critical care and exotics. After developing an interest in cardiac medicine, she started working for CVCA in August 2009 as a part time employee. This quickly turned into a full time position and she now serves as Team Leader for the Rockville location.  She still keeps up her practice in emergency medicine on the weekends.  In her spare time, Carrie fosters for the Montgomery County Animal Shelter for orphan kittens and injured and sick dogs and cats.  She also enjoys hiking, running, art, wine, gardening and all things associated with zombies!
